Pari Livermore is always seeking out like minded people who support and give back to the Philadelphia Irish Community. Her friends include those who work hands-on, doing research and fundraising for The Duffy’s Cut Project. Duffy’s Cut is the name given to a stretch of railroad tracks about 30 miles (48 km) west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nearby is the mass grave of fifty-seven Irish immigrant workers who died in August, 1832, of cholera. Archaeological excavation began in August 2004. The project is working to ensure all of the bodies are laid to rest in proper burial locations in the United States and Ireland.
Pari was very pleased that the sold-out event was able to help The Duffy’s Cut Project continue its important work honoring Irish American heritage.
